The Return of a Classic:    Newly Crafted  Hand Built Reproductions of this historic design built in our own workshop.

In the 1970's master viola craftsman Otto Erdesz designed and built approximately 35 specially designed violas for concert violist Rivka Golani.  They were designed to allow the player to shift into the high positions without interference from the upper treble bout.  For those who play contemporary viola literature this is a great advantage as it allows the hand to ascend into high range of the instrument easily.  Mr. Kraemer studied with Otto Erdesz in 1967 and 1968 and proudly offers hand crafted reproducions of this historic model which are built in our own shop.   These are produced in very limited quantities and are intended for professional violists.

 A very limited number of exact reproduction "Virtuoso" Cut Away Violas as designed and originally built by the master viola maker Otto Erdesz will be available for purchase shortly.    These are 16  1/2" body length  exact reproductions of this classic professional viola.  They are currently being built in  our shop and pre-orders are being accepted for delivery within 6 months.  Please enquire as to pricing and availability.
